JOB OVERVIEW

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for the direction and management of all Sales Professionals within their applicable region, including but not limited to the attainment of sales and margin goals, the recruitment, training, and development of Sales Professionals, and the creation and execution of sales strategies and initiatives.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support territory Sales Professionals within assigned region
  • Recruit, train, develop and manage new and existing Sales Professionals
  • Meet regional operational objectives through the development of strategic plans, the preparation and distribution of action plans, the implementation of productivity and customer-service standards and issue resolution
  • Meet regional financial objectives through the establishment of sales projections, the scheduling of expenditures, the analysis of variances and the initiation of corrective actions
  • Maintain and expand account base through Sales Professional counseling, the building and maintenance of account rapport and the identification of new account opportunities
  • Design and recommend sales programs
  • Create and implement short and long-term sales strategies
  • Evaluate and implement applicable new sales techniques, to drive and increase territory sales volume
  • Attend local and national trade shows

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications (i.e., Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Engaging presentation, written and verbal communication skills  
  • Proven leadership capabilities, with the ability to motivate a team
  • Strong analytical and strategic planning skills
  • Ability to manage multi-territory responsibility with an emphasis on driving results
  • Ability to make decisions independently, or escalate when applicable
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to travel domestically
  • Deadline-driven with a strong sense of urgency

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5-7 year’ experience in a sales team leadership capacity
