DESCRIPTION

The HR Business Partner/Manager (Retail) is responsible for providing HR partnership to employees and front-line managers by leveraging HR expertise and strategies focused on organizational development and effectiveness, employee relations, and culture / engagement. This individual will support the facilitation and delivery of functional and / or organizational initiatives and play an integral role in executing strategies and interventions requiring employee relations, change management, performance management and compliance. Additionally, the HR Business Manager will participate in key business planning to assess talent and develop strategies to address development needs, gaps and risks.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Organizational Development – 30%

  • Partner with senior leaders on organization diagnosis, analysis and design
  • Partner with senior leaders to lead business unit level change initiatives
  • Support business leaders in building bridges between functional areas
  • Anticipate and assess the gaps between business needs, people and systems capabilities and drive the appropriate results
  • Partner with business leaders to drive performance management and compensation strategies
  • Lead talent assessment management process (succession planning, key employee initiatives)
  • Partner with business leaders on best practices to ensure a connection between organizational objectives, people strategies and leadership
  • Partner with business leaders to drive organizational improvements / development
  • Support and reinforce travisMathew culture and values

Employee Relations – 30%

  • Proactively manage employee relations, complaint resolution and investigations
  • Provide performance guidance to business leaders (i.e., coaching, counseling, disciplinary action)
  • Provide recommendations and counsel regarding terminations
  • Lead the termination process, including paperwork administration and exit interviews
  • Manage a range of metrics to strategically inform and measure employee relations efforts
  • Partner with Legal Team (as necessary) to protect the Company and limit claims exposure

Talent Acquisition – 30%

  • Partner with business leaders to identify talent needs and provide staffing solutions
  • Partner with business leaders to develop a talent pipeline and cultivate strong bench strength

Leadership– 10%

  • Provide advice, counsel, and influence business leaders on company policy, procedure, as well as legal compliance
  • Participate in HR strategy development with Leadership Team

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years HR generalist experience including organizational development, strategic planning, and employee relations
  • Supervisory / management experience and Sr. Professional Human Resources (SPHR) certification preferred
  • Experience working in a vertically integrated retail environment preferred
